The series comprises the sources gathered and research conducted by Dr Patricia McMagh together with her cousin Dr Fay Liesching into the Howard and related families in South Africa. The progenitor was John Hassall Howard, 1792-1864, who married Susannah Brant, 1796-1865 (surname later spelt Brandt).
