Scope and content
The Florence family were dispossessed of their Rondebosch family home in 1970 as a result of discriminatory apartheid policies (Group Area Act). The matter was heard in the Land Claims Court (LCC 148/2008) and went to the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA 550//2012). Isobel Florence then took the matter to the Constitutional Court to test whether the CPI (Consumer Price Index) was an appropriate measure to determine compensation in such cases.
