Scope and content

A small green, blue and yellow fifty Sen(cent) note issued by the Government of Japan between 1942 and 1945. The front of the note features the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo. The shrine was featured on the note as a dedication to the soldiers who dead during the war. The back of the note features a mountain range and the number "50" printed on either side of it.
