Papers of Sammy Marks (1844-1920), which reflect the wide range of his business and political activities, including property and farming. Contains 41 letterbooks of Sammy Marks, containing most of his private correspondence between 1880 and 1919. These include letters to his family and to his business partner, Isaac Lewis. Financial records of Sammy Marks and of the firm, Lewis and Marks. Personal papers. Papers are mostly in English, but many are in Yiddish.
