Dr Judith van Heerden's prison health care research project initially aimed to explore two aspects of the service: (1) interviews documenting the experiences of ex-detainees (prisoners) [contained in Subseries A3 of this fonds; and (2) self-administered questionnaires for district surgeons [contained in file A4.1] and applications for her secondment for a post of surgeon [the present file A4.2] the latter being unsuccessful.
