Transcript of interview with Sylvia Silverman of Johannesburg. Born in Pretoria in 1909. Mother born in Russia and father in Vienna. They met and married in England and immigrated to South Africa about 1900. They were hoteliers and mother a dressmaker. Interviewee was active in several Jewish communal associations. Lived in Pretoria, Durban, Volksrust, Vryheid, Brakpan and Johannesburg. Interviewer: Madge Clingman.
