Transcript of interview with Lew Letner of Johannesburg. Born in Austria in 1881. Father was a men's outfitter and mother had a general dealer's store. At 17 went to Manchester in England. Immigrated from there to South Africa in 1902. After two years in Cape Town left for Australia where he married. After his wife's death he moved to Israel in 1964, coming back to South Africa in 1971. He was a businessman. Interviewer: Barbara Meltz.
