Born about 1900 in Latvia, and immigrated to South Africa with her mother about 1902 to join her father who had immigrated in the late 1890s. Father was a tailor. First lived in Kimberley. Interviewee was a trade unionist and socialist. She was the founder and director of the Vanguard bookshop in Johannesburg. Interviewer: Riva Krut
