Transcript of interview with Deborah Judes of Johannesburg. Born in Fort Beaufort in 1909. Parents were born in Lithuania and immigrated to South Africa in 1901. Father had a hotel, post office and store in the Fort Beaufort district. Family moved to Port Elizabeth where father dealt in ostrich feathers and was a schochet. Interviewee was very involved in Habonim. Interviewer: Thea Fleiser.
