Father lived in the United States before moving to England where he met interviewee's mother. Father immigrated to South Africa in 1903 and mother and children followed. Father was a dress designer. Settled in Cape Town before moving to Johannesburg in 1914. Interviewee and her husband were shopkeepers. Interviewer: Alec Rimer.
