Transcript of interview with Philip Mindel of Cape Town. Born in Lithuania about 1905. Immigrated to South Africa in 1924. Father was a shochet and chazan. Parents died in the Holocaust. Interviewee lived in Saldanha from 1924 to 1930 and from 1944 to 1970. Settled permanently in Cape Town from 1970. Was a shop assistant, and, from 1944 to 1970, a dairy owner.
