Transcript of interview with Mary Leven of Cape Town. Born in Cape Town in 1900. Parents immigrated to South Africa from Lithuania. Father had spent some years in America before returning to Lithuania. In South Africa he had a general dealer's shop and then farmed. Interviewee lived in Johannesburg and Modderfontein before settling permanently in Cape Town in 1931. She was a shorthand typist, and shop owner after 1941. Interviewer: Eva Horwitz.
