Transcript of interview with Abraham Immerman of Cape Town. Born in Cape Town in 1907. Parents immigrated to South Africa from Latvia. Father was a fish-dealer and step-father a cattle-dealer. Interviewee lived in Zastron in the Free State (1906-1925) and Oudtshoorn (1925-1942) before settling permanently in Cape Town in 1942. He was blind, and interview tells of circumstances in which he became a cantor and Hebrew teacher. Interviewer: Eva Horwitz.
