The collection contains correspondence, documentation, publications and ephemera related to Sische Nagel, an industrial chemist, and his wife, Mirla. Sische Nagel was born in Jasienica, Poland on the 18th of January 1902. His wife Mirla was born on the 15th of May 1900 in Minlewo, Poland. In 1925 Sische moved from Poland to Belgium. In 1929 he decided to move to Brazil with his wife. Two years later the couple moved to the France Concession in Shanghai, China where Sische set up his own chemical company, Far Eastern Chemical, with several business partners. In 1941 they moved to Singapore. Whilst living there, the couple travelled to British Malaya, an island off the coast of Singapore as well as South Africa. In 1945 they moved to South Africa and settled in Durban. Sische died of a heart attack in 1961.
