The identity tags were worn in the field. On the front, the tag provided the following details: ‘’Ltn. Bernh. Schragenheim, Berlin, Levetsofstrasse, 12a’’ (his parents address). On the back, the following details: ‘’RIR 48, 1. M.G.K.’’ (RIR48 refers to Regiment 48) The tags are made out of a grey metal with some white rust / growth. The tags feature the address of Moses and Zerline Schragenheim in Berlin. The item is on permanent display in the 'Fighting for the Fatherland' display in the Cape Town Holocaust Centre permanent exhibition.
