Dress epaulettes of Bernhard Schragenheim who belonged to the 1st Machine Gun Company, Regiment 48, 5th Reserve Division, German Armed Forces. These epaulettes, which are gilded, were worn for official and ceremonial purposes, and serve to denote the rank of Bernhard Schragenheim. The epaulettes are on permanent display in the 'Fighting for the Fatherland' display in the Cape Town Holocaust Centre permanent exhibition.
