The obverse image depicts a burning building in Goroditschtsche, Belarus. The reverse includes a letter sent from Bernhard Schragenheim to Elsbeth Schragenheim in Berlin, 21 November 1916. Bernhard received his Iron Cross Second Class regarding his operation at Baranowitsche, not far from Goroditschsche.
