Pages 5-6 of this 'special late edition' describes Allied responses to the declaration of war on Germany, including the opening of a special session of South African Parliament to decide South African Governmental response to the 'war situation.' The Star is a national daily established in 1871 in Grahamstown and first referred to as the 'Eastern Star'. It is now based in Johannesburg.
