A letter from Ruth Lindner to Edith Sorell dated 25 June 1940. In the letter Ruth sends her congratulations on the birth of Edith and Roy's son. Ruth also writes about the minor operation she had and then talks of the German invasion of Holland (May 1940) and the stress she went through to determine whether her relations were alright. She tells how she eventually found out that they were, but states that she cannot bear for them to live ''under the government of these barbarians.''
