In 1934, arising from the publication of antisemitic documents based on the 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion', a booklet published by the South African Jewish Board of Deputies on the trial proceedings between three members of the pro-Nazi Greyshirts movement and Reverend A Levy from Port Elizabeth. Levy had sued for them defamation. The Supreme Court in Grahamstown declared the The Protocols a forgery.
