Dossiers and working files differ in that the dossiers comprised a distinct subset within the collection; they were systematically and purposefully collated, and schematically labelled. The working files were created and collated by numerous people and offices, and appear to have been “day-to-day” working files. The lack of systematic arrangement within the files accounts for the wide variety of documentation they contain. The thematic arrangement of the working files is based largely on file descriptions used by the creators of the files.
