This collection reflects Mr Hofmeyr’s involvements in the African National Congress, the United Democratic Front and the 1994 democratic elections. The bulk of the papers comprise his African National Congress work. There is a large correspondence file section, which contains information about other political and social organisations in which Mr Hofmeyr had an interest and/or played a role. A large part of the collection comprised publications. These titles have been listed in the finding aid as part of the collection, but have been transferred to the University of Cape Town Library’s African Studies Library.
