INPUT aims to challenge the norms of public television, committed to the principle that it is a public service that should be in the interests of the public. Since 1978 INPUT has held an annual screening conference in cities all over the world, as well as other activities that provide development opportunities for directors, producers, and others involved in public television. INPUT undertakes this work in the hope of fostering greater understanding and cooperation in the multicultural international environment. The 2001 event was held in Cape Town.
