History
Colin Taylor (1881-1973) received his musical training in Liepzig, Germany, and at the Royal College of Music, London. He then taught music at Eton College where Aldous Huley and Philip Heseltine were among his pupils. In 1922 he joined the staff of the South African College of Music, eventually becoming vice-principal. He retired in 1941. Taylor composed more than 140 works, mainly piano pieces. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Music.
