Scope and content

This collection includes holograph lecture notes on Plato, Aristotle, Homer, etc., attendance registers (1882-1921 and 1925-1930) in 40 volumes, the Classics Department's "Class Mark Book" (1905-1911), ms volumes of Ritchie's "History of the South African College, 1829-1918" (Cape Town, Maskew Miller, 1918), also illustrations as well as a volume containing an outline of the more important events and data concerning the College (1829-1918), a photocopy of summary of Prof. Ritchie's diary, and a number of S.A.C. photographs, photocopies of his obituaries, and so on.
