Scope and content

An account of the Murray family of Sea Point, written by Mrs Robert Kirkman (neé Madeline Murray, born 1901) in 1969, recalling the period 1905 to 1922. An historical background, “footnotes” and some photocopied illustrations have been attached by her niece, Mrs E P du Plessis, the donor of the collection.
Also in this small collection are the pages of a photograph album.
The photographs are Madeline Murray’s holiday snaps taken in the Western Cape (1921-22), Durban (1923), Pretoria (1923), Johannesburg (1923), Kimberley (1923). Some good pictures of the Hiddingh Hall campus are also included.
