Scope and content
The volume seems to have been written, firstly, by a Dutch medical practitioner who made professional notes on various diseases and later made notes about new medical books about which he read reviews in an 18th century Dutch bookreviewing journal called De Boekzaal van Europa. This covers the period 1727-41. Then a man called W Wessels tells about his marriage in 1743 and records the births of his various children up to 1753. Another person, “Vrouw van Bentijnck” subsequently wrote down various home remedies and a few household recipes. A final note is in yet another handwriting later on. [Note made by R F M Immelman].
