Biographical history
Robert Langham-Carter (1903-1996) was born in Singapore and educated in England at Bradfield School and Oxford. After graduating, he returned to Asia as a member of the Indian Civil Service in Burma. In 1948, he and his family settled in Cape Town. The papers contain articles from various publications and newspapers written by him. He was a prolific writer and researcher of the history of churches. His field of interest included history, art and architecture of churches, monuments and gravestones.
