Interviews explore perceptions and lived experiences of South Africans identified as being Afrikaans (with a focus on the past, present and future). Themes include: affirmative action; civic resistance to apartheid; family histories also in relation to South African Afrikaner history; farming communities; job reservation; parental preconceptions of race; race and relationship to Afrikaans as a language; racial relations; relationships to domestic servants; sanctions.
