Henry John Colchester (1919-1986) was a diplomat in Rhodesia, later Zimbabwe, and was married to Win, née Bransby, a writer and artist. Their son is Anthony Sidney Colchester Hooper (1943-), who was University Librarian at the University of Cape Town, and their daughter is Deidre Swire-Johnson.
