History

Monsignor Frederick Charles Kolbe was born in the Cape, studied law at the South African College and in London; after conversion to Catholic Faith took D.D. in Rome and returned to S.A. in 1882; eminent churchman, leading intellectual figure; author of philosophical and religious books.
