Established in 1937, Langa High School is known as the oldest black secondary school in the country. Students of Langa High were involved in uprisings and political unrest during the 1970s and 1980s. Interviews concentrate on ‘black education’ under apartheid. Themes include: family background; gender discrimination; job reservation; physical environment; political uprisings; political consciousness; school curriculum; school history; school life; school principals (Mr Zeka, Mr Mkize, Mr Qunta, Mr Malangabe).
