Scope and content
Tapes and transcripts of interviews with former detainees, conducted under the auspices of the Institute of Criminology at the University of Cape Town. The research was funded by a grant from the Ford Foundation. Interviews took place from mid-1983 to November 1984.
The interviews were with 176 people who were detained without trial under South African security legislation.
