Scope and content
British colonialists established the farming area of Wynberg as a Garrison town in 1795. Wynberg was a convenient halfway point between Table Bay and False Bay and became a hub of commercial activity. Interviews conducted in 1977 trace family backgrounds and memories of Wynberg and its environment since 1835. Themes include: blacksmith shop; coach route; Dutch Reformed parsonage; farms; Fournaghts school; key figures (Deneys Reitz, Archbishop Brooks, Justice Benjamin, J.D.
