This collection was presented to the University of Cape Town Libraries by the Cape Town City Ballet Company. It contains notations of ballets produced in Cape Town by the Cape Performing Arts Board (CAPAB) Ballet Company, later renamed the Cape Town City Ballet Company. Many of these ballets were choreographed by South African choreographers, such as Veronica Paeper, David Poole and Gary Burne. Also in the collection are a large number of music scores, some of which are relevant to the ballet repertoire. The collection also contains a large number of songs, mostly in the form of sheet music. Section A contains the ballets for which there are notations and it is ordered by name of the ballet. Sections B and C, containing other music scores, are ordered by name of the composer.
