Description : Certificates and testimonials of Dr. James Rutherford Mackenzie, and records of his student years at Aberdeen University 1900-1905, and of his apprentice­ship and registration as a chemist 1880-1899.

1 - Attendance cards at the University of Aberdeen medical school, 1900-1905.

2 - Merit certificates from the University of Aberdeen Medical Faculty.

3 - D.P. certificates for courses attended in the University of Aberdeen Medical Faculty, 1900-1905.

4 - Medical Practitioner's licence issued to Dr. James Mackenzie authorising him to practise in the Cape of Good Hope Colony. Issued 19th December 1905, references and other items connected with his Medical practice at the Cape.

5 - Medical Students registration certificate issued by the Scottish Branch of the General Medical Council 30/10/1900.

6 - Cards, etc. giving the results of the medical examinations passed by Dr. James Mackenzie, and ticket for the Graduation ceremony at Aberdeen University, July 1905, and receipts for exam. fees paid

7 - Letters of recommendation and references and other letters, etc. concerning Dr. James Mackenzie's medical student years and student activities.

8 - Medical Registration Certificate, 1905, certificate authorising Dr. James Mackenzie's competence for the practice of Public Vaccination, 1905, and certificate from the Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen, concerning Medical and Surgical Practice sessions attended by Dr. James Mackenzie, 1905

9 - Contract document apprenticing Mr James Mackenzie to William Eddie, Chemist and Druggist for a period of 5 years, dated 1880; and other documents con­cerning Mr Mackenzie's training and practice as a Chemist: + 2 envelopes.

10 - Scottish Inter-Universities Conference Dinner Menu, held at Marischal College, Aberdeen, 1905, with autographs including that of Haliday Gibson Sutherland (medical author); programme for a concert dated 1902, Menu for First Year Medicals' Class Supper held in Dec.1900, with autographs, and Life membership card, 1905, of General Council of Aberdeen University.
