Traditional isiXhosa food, recipes and related culinary and cultural experiences have adapted and been developed by the movement of people from rural to urban settings. These interviews explore the role and development of traditional/local isiXhosa food recipes and ingredients in the urban environment of Cape Town in 2002. Themes include: food related to special occasions; food types; recipes; traditional food in the rural environment and related socio-political contexts.
