Biographical history
Dr Edgar Maurice (1919-1994) became principal of Harold Cressy High in 1952. In 1961, for his activism in the TLSA and NEUM, Dr Maurice was banned for five years. While he was allowed to work, his movements were restricted and he was precluded from speaking on a public platform or to a gathering of more than five people. He was also not allowed to publish.
